Hey there! I’m Dr. Jenny Perna, and I’ve been working as a dentist focusing on making smiles beautiful and keeping families’ teeth healthy since I finished my training in Asheville, NC. I love being involved in my community and supporting my fellow dental professionals. In this letter, I want to share a bit about myself, where I come from, and why I’m so passionate about dentistry.
I grew up in Merritt Island on Florida’s east coast, where I marvelled at space shuttle launches from my backyard. My passion for creativity led me to dance, sing, and act. At the University of Florida, I discovered my love for science and earned a degree in microbiology, with aspirations of becoming a dentist. Working for a dentist during college taught me how to combine artistry and science in dentistry. I completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at Nova Southeastern University in 2014. I was deeply involved in my local community, serving on the executive boards of dental organizations and joining dental mission trips abroad, where I saw how dentistry can truly change lives. After dental school, I pursued a General Practice Residency (GPR), refining my skills and learning advanced procedures to enhance my dental practice.
